bullmer GmbH is an internationally operating company. How does bullmer deal with the topic of corona virus?

“Due to the worldwide spread of the corona virus COVID-19, we have experienced an unprecedented and unpredictable period in recent months. While we are all struggling with this global pandemic, bullmer GmbH is following all developments very closely to ensure the safety of employees and customers while maintaining service levels and support”.

What impact does the corona virus have on bullmer’s ability to deliver?

“bullmer GmbH manufactures most of its products at its headquarters in Mehrstetten. We are also in close contact with our suppliers in order to identify possible effects on their supply chain at an early stage and to be able to react appropriately. Currently our supply chain is still fully functional. Of course, you can still contact us by phone and e-mail. Even in these difficult times for us all, bullmer GmbH stands for delivery reliability and consistently good quality”.

Which measures does bullmer GmbH take to protect employees and their contact persons from the corona virus in the best possible way?

“The most important thing is internal education, which is our top priority: Employees are sensitized to hygiene – washing hands, sufficient distance to others, adherence to the coughing and sneezing label and disinfection of surfaces used by different people.”

Are demos and training and service assignments possible again?

“To ensure the best possible protection for our employees, we also offer appointments online as video conferences. As usual, we will offer on-site appointments at our customers’ premises or at our company from August onwards. However, it is an absolute prerequisite that the customer or employee does not come from a risk area and that they wear a mouth and nose protector for the duration of the event.”

bullmer Gmbh has been announced as the winner of the category „Industry Excellence in Branding – Machines & Engineering“ for the product Large Format Singleply Cutter Premiumcut ELC 5052.

The German Brand Institute was initiated by the “Rat für Formgebung” and “GMK Markenberatung”. Upon application of the Bundestag the “Rat für Formgebung“ was funded 60 years ago. It represents the international design and trade mark matters in Germany and supports the economy in all questions regarding design and brand.

We congratulate Hans Magwas on his 25th anniversary with bullmer in Mehrstetten. In 1994 Mr. Magwas joined our company as a service technician and now works as a service manager in telephone service and support.

At the 1st of August Mr. Magwas will take his well-deserved retirement and enjoy it in his home town of Falkenstein in the Vogtland. The management and the staff would like to thank Mr. Magwas for his commitment and pleasant cooperation during the 25 years of service and wish him all the best for the future.

 

Edwin Hirschle retires after 49 yearsThe long-time production manager Edwin Hirschle started his apprenticeship as a machine fitter at bullmer in 1971. After completing his training, he moved first to the assembly department and later to the service department as a travel mechanic, where he was able to gain extensive experience in worldwide assignments. In 1981 he completed further training as a master craftsman in industry, after which he worked for a short time in development and as a master craftsman for halls 3 and 4. In 1994 he took over the complete production management. From 01.02.2017 he will support development projects of various kinds with his decades of experience.

Throughout his career, Mr. Hirschle has received recognition and awards including

• Member of the examination board of the IHK
• Honorary examiner of the IHK

The management and staff would like to thank Mr. Hirschle for his pleasant cooperation and loyalty during his 49 years of service and wish him all the best for his retirement.

In order to contribute to the fight against the corona pandemic, the company Wrapping Solutions is converting its production. Instead of interior trim panels for cars, the company in Rosengarten near Schwäbisch Hall now produces up to 24.000 face masks per day in two shifts, which can protect against infection.

“It is estimated that around 14 million protective masks are needed in Germany every day,” said Wrapping Solutions Managing Director Wolfgang Schaller.

The FPC1-2 layered face and nose mask is made of 100% polypropylene fleece and has an air filter pocket for filters with copper coating. The “FPC1 2-ply filter mask with pocket for changeable filters” can be washed up to 50 times in the washing machine in the gentle wash cycle at 60°C and is therefore reusable. The masks must then be air-dried.

With the bullmer Turbocut up to 60.000 masks or filters can be cut to size per day. Therefore the deputy managing director of bullmer GmbH Jochen Cramer has decided to support the company Wrapping Solutions in the production of the filters and to produce 60.000 filters per day in Mehrstetten.

“We are very grateful for the technical support of bullmer GmbH. This is a decisive step towards accelerating the production of the masks”, says Schaller.
